Amanda came from a swimming background, swimming Breaststroke and IM at Texas Christian University. After that she began medical school at the University of Oklahoma and would swim almost daily for ‘stress relief’. A group of triathletes talked her into doing a super sprint triathlon and she was immediately hooked. Within a year she was at the Olympic Training Center training and racing the ITU circuit. That eventually turned into non-drafting Olympic distance, then 70.3s, and finally IMs.
