ASHLEY’S STORY

In 2014, Ashley Donovan and her friend Adam Meyer ran from Portland, OR to Washington, D.C. to directly connect with communities across the United States. The pair met with leaders from local volunteer fire and rescue Departments, schools, governments and many organizations along the way. You can learn more about their journey at run2connect.com.

Prior to Donovan’s run across America, she earned her Ph.D in Chemistry from Princeton University.
She currently works for the American Chemical Society and manages the higher education faculty professional development program. In 2016, Ashley ran 200 miles unsupported from Washington D.C. to Philadelphia to learn about chemistry departments at 11 colleges and universities along the way to the Fall 2016 American Chemical Society National Meeting and Expo. During the run to Philadelphia, Ashley comfortably averaged 20 miles a day for 10 days in just one pair of shoes, the Women’s Distance V. By carrying an Ipad with her for the 200 miles of the trip, she was able to take notes, photos, check routes and write daily blog posts.
